The local Bright Museum is in the heritage listed old Bright Railway Station.  The museum also has rolling stock typical of that used on the old Ovens Valley Railway.

The museum covers railway history, gold mining history and also covers the social history of the area along with local family histories and a photographic collection.

A large number of Chinese miners worked in the gold fields and the museum has a reconstructed Chinese Joss House based on the one destroyed in the Buckland Valley, and a collection of artefacts from Chinese Miners.

The Museum is open every Sunday afternoon (2pm – 4pm) except from Mid-June to early September. During the summer, Easter and September school holidays and festivals the museum is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday afternoons.

The museum can also be opened at other times by prior arrangement with the secretary on 03 57551949
